How we test parts before they ship
Every engine, transmission and ABS module is tested before it leaves our warehouse, and the results are written on the listing rather than summarised as “tested”. A used part is one specific object, so the only honest thing to publish is what that object actually did on the bench. Below is what we check, by part type.
Engines
- Compression tested on every cylinder, with the figures recorded on the listing
- Leak-down test to separate a ring problem from a valve problem
- Oil inspected for coolant, metal and sludge
- Turned over by hand to check for binding before it is ever run
- Visible external damage, mounting points and accessory brackets photographed
Transmissions
- Fluid checked for colour, smell and debris — the first sign of internal wear
- Shifted through every gear range and the result recorded
- Case, bellhousing and mounting points inspected for cracks
- Torque converter checked for play
- Donor mileage verified against the vehicle it came from
ABS modules and electronics
- Scan-tool communication confirmed — the module answers and reports its part number
- Pump and solenoids actuated and observed
- Connector pins checked for corrosion and spread terminals
- Part number and software level photographed so you can match it to yours
- Stored fault codes read and recorded
What the grade on a listing means
Every unit carries a grade, and every listing spells out what that grade means for that part rather than leaving you to guess at a letter. Where a figure exists — compression, mileage, a scan-tool result — it is printed on the listing itself.
If anything is unclear about a specific unit, call +1 888-949-8656 and a specialist will pull the record for that exact part.
